ARE YOU READY TO GET INVOLVED IN GROWING SOFTBALL INONTARIO?
NORTH YORK, ONTARIO-Softball Ontario's Participation Committee is pleased to announce the creationof several new volunteer positions within the Participation Program. The success of theParticipation Program depends on having a core of dedicated volunteersinvolved in the program.  In June 2007, the Participation Program ended athree-year grant from the Trillium Foundation and began working on newprojects aimed at increasing participation in Softball and building thecapacity of Softball Associations.  As a result, the Program is in needof fresh and innovative ideas and enthusiastic new volunteers.
The ParticipationProgram is currently looking for volunteers to fill the followingroles:

Softball Ontario isthe governing body for the sport of softball in Ontario.  Our goal is topromote and develop the sport of softball for its athletes, officials andvolunteers by providing programs and services at all levels ofcompetitions.

Participation Committee Member
The Softball Ontario Participation Program is pleased to announceseveral openings on the Participation Committee.  The positions arevolunteer, for which the successful candidates is expected to take a strongleadership role in the development of the Participation Program inOntario.  The persons in these roles will represent and promote theParticipation Program on all matters, including introducing and promoting theBlastBall and Learn to Play programs. 
The successful candidates will be expected to attend all committeemeetings (approximately two (2) per year), as well as attend a minimum of two(2) community events per year.

    ♦ Good communication and administrativeskills
    ♦ Good leadership qualities
    ♦ Passionate about softball
    ♦ Enthusiastic and dynamic personality
    ♦ Knowledge of BlastBall & Learn toPlay programs
    ♦ Involved withsoftball
    ♦ Must be able to work wellwith others
    ♦ Must submit a PoliceRecords Check

Regional Coordinator
The Softball Ontario Participation Program is please to announce thecreation of a new volunteer position within Softball Ontario.  The newrole, Softball Ontario Regional Coordinator, will help to ensure that SoftballAssociations across the province are aware of the many programs and servicesavailable to help them from Softball Ontario.  A total of eleven (11)Regional Coordinator Positions are available throughout the province.
The Softball Ontario Regional Coordinator is to act as a liaisonbetween Softball Ontario, the Participation Committee, and the House LeagueSoftball Associations within the Regional Coordinator’s Region as well aspromote Softball Ontario Programs and Services to the House League SoftballAssociations within the Region
Qualifications
    ♦ Must have a working knowledgeof the game of softball
    ♦ Stronginterpersonal and organizational skills
    ♦ Must be able to show leadership as wellas follow direction
    ♦ Must submit aPolice Records Check

Community Fun Team Member
Are you looking for a fun volunteer position that involves bothsoftball and working with children?  Great news!  Softball Ontario’sCommunity Fun Team is looking for volunteers from across the province to joinin the fun! 
The Community Fun Team travels throughout Ontario promoting the game ofSoftball and working with Softball Associations to increaseregistration.  As member of the Community Fun Team, you will helpSoftball Ontario set up and run interactive booths designed to let childrentry softball.  You will not be required to instruct the participants onSoftball skills.
Qualifications:
    ♦ Passionate about softball
    ♦ Must work well with others
    ♦ Enthusiastic and dynamic personality
    ♦ Must submit a Police Records Check
Volunteers are provided with mileage and a small cash allowance. Hours volunteered can be applied to the Mandatory Community Involvementrequired for High School students.  All ages are welcome to volunteer,however only those 13 yeas of age an older will qualify for the cashallowance.
