The Thomson Merchants fastpitch team is organizing a 6 team men's fastpitch tournament for the weekend of July 24-26, 2009 and are looking for teams that would like to participate. This will be an open level tournament held in Thomson, Illinois approximately 45 minutes north of the Quad Cities- the home of the '09 World Tournament. We will have two 3 team pools for round robin play with single elimination games starting Saturday evening. The entry fee is 250 dollars. Being the tournament is the week before the World Tournament and is close to the Quad Cities, this would make it very convenient for teams looking for games before the Worlds. This tournament is supported by the QC World Tournament committee as well to promote men's fastpitch interest outside of the Quad City area in hopes to draw spectator interest for the World Tournament. Teams other than Thomson that have verbally committed are the Quad City Sox and Aurora/Dolan Murphy.
