Bar Of Appleton 2010 Roster and schedule

April 6, 2010

Appleton, WI

Appleton, WI.

The Bar Of Appelton has finalized their roster and schedule for the 2010 season.  The BOA boys had a successful 2009 campaign that saw them win the NAFA AAA World Series, finish with a 3-3 record at the ASA Nationals and a 2-2 record at the ISC World Tournament.  Top awards went to Australian hurler Andy Blackshaw who, at 18 years of age, was the ISC's Top Rookie pitcher and was the Most Outstanding Pitcher at the NAFA AAA.  Tom Crouch won the MVP for the champs at the NAFA AAA.  The team has added some new sticks and arms to an already solid team that looks to be a top ten contender in 2010.  The team has already qualified for the 2010 ISC WT after having the highest finish at the 2009 Boys of Summer tournament.
The team will once again be sponsored by The Bar of Appleton.  Mr. Miller and family from The Bar franchise have been great supporters for men/s fastpitch for many years and continue to help out teams in the Fox Valley area..

First, the returnees.

Jesse Delorit -Will do some catching and play a little 1B.  Delorit is the team leader and has plenty of experience.  Delorit was a member of the 2007 World Champion Farm tavern and has won an ASA Championship and has been named to an ASA All American Team.

Bill Huss-Another veteran, Huss has played with the Farm Tavern as well and has won a couple of NAFA championships.  Huss brings a nice stick to the BOA lineup and plenty of experience as the team's leader.

Mike Armitage- "Army" is a proven power hitter and will see time at third base this season.  Armitage had a three-home run game last season proving he has the ability to get hot and carry a team offensively.

Tom Crouch- Veteran ball player that has numerous NAFA-ASA championships under his belt.  Has been a NAFA MVP, ASA First Team All American  and NAFA Open All World selection.  Played SS last year for the BOA and played tremendous defense and hit at the top of the line up all season.

Chris Delorit- Played OF and DH last season.  Is one of the better hitters in the game today.  Hits in the middle of the line up for the BOA and makes players around him better.

Nick Peters-In his second year of major ball. Peters has already made his splash in 23-under play winning championships and awards at that level.  Last year, Peters was selected to the Second Team All Amercian at the ASA's and was  a NAFA AAA All World selection.  Peters has a bright future in the game of fastpitch.  Will see time behind trhe plate and outfiedl in 2010.

Brandon Siedel-Brandon can play a number of positions and is one of the team's best young hitters.  Brandon has had a  lot of success at the 23-under ranks the past few years.

Andy Blackshaw-Blackshaw won top rookie honors at the ISC World Tournament in August.  He was also named to the NAFA AAA All Tournament team.  Andy is one of the top young pitchers in the game.

New to the team will be:

Josh Johnson-Josh continues to improve and is making a name as one of the top American pitchers in the game.  Josh also does damage at the plate making him a two-way threat for The Bar of Appleton.

Justin Columbo-Justin will be a nice addition to the Bar.  An excellent slap-hitter, Columbo played with the Bar at the ASA Nationals and hit well enough to win Second Team All American honors.  Justin will be in the OF.

Jared Johnson-Jared will see time at both IF and OF for The Bar this summer.  Jared is a strong hitter with a lot of athletic ability that makes him very versatile.  Jared has been named to two NAFA AA All World teams.

Pat Humphries-Pat is a veteran catcher with many years of major ball experience.  Pat brings a strong bat and leadership behind the dish.  Pat's resume includes catching for world contender, The Farm Tavern two years ago.

Darryn Miller-Darren is on Team USA and competed with them at the ISF in Saskatchewan Canada last summer.  Darren will play IF and help the team out offensively.  Darren is a versatile player that will bring plenty of experience to a club that has that nice mix of veteran and young players.

BJ Gulik-BJ will add a left-handed stick to the BOA line-up that will immediately help the team.  BJ has played for the Thomson Merchants and teams from Minnesota.  BJ will play in the OF for the BOA squad and will probably hit near the top of the order with his excellent ability to get on base.

The team is still looking to play either the weekend of June 5-6 or June 11-12.
