We are hosting the El Paso Spring Classic fastpitch tournament in El Paso on April 28,29, 2012.. The entry fee is $100 and it is a double elimination bracket.
We have been able to secure some generous donations so that balls and bats will be paid for as this will the first NAFA Texas WoodBat Event of the year! I would like to personally thank Gabe San Roman for the help in securing the fields as well as Gary Galindo and Clark Evans from Las Cruces in securing the Blue for the weekend! I would also like to thank Albert Gomez for his enthusiastic support of this idea and helping teams participate in this tournament. Thanks!
We have pitching restrictions this year as only Class B or below pitchers will be allowed to pitch. All pitchers must be approved by the tournament committee before participating.
This tournament is our first in driving pitcher and player development in West Texas and New Mexico as well as our neighbor, Mexico! We will also be hosting a Fathers Day Tournament which will be a NAFA Texas WoodBat Event as well.
In addition to this, we are trying to organize a Open level tournament on May 14-15 in Las Cruces or El Paso. This will be ran so that all of the teams in the Southwest can have a quality event to see top level pitching right before heading to their respective national tournaments.
We are very excited about bringing opportunities into the communities of El Paso and Las Cruces and can't wait for the season to begin!
