2012 Peligro Cup June 29 to July 1, 2012, NYC

May 18, 2012

New York, NY

The 2012 International Peligro cup will be June 29- July 1 in New York City.   12 teams from New Zealand to Argentina to Pennsylvania to Venezuela will compete for the huge $8,000 first prize ($2,000 for 2ndâ€Â).   For those who’ve never been here before, this tournament is unlike any other in North America and something every fastball fan should experience. The great teams competing with the amazing, unique atmosphere make this tournament unique.

Friday night’s games will again be played in the Bronx, NY but at a different park from 2011.   This year, the night games will be played at the new ballpark built where the OLD Yankee stadium stood and a new softball/baseball complex has been created.  With the Yankees home on Friday night, 20,000 or more fans could be walking past some great fastpitch action after they finish the Chicago White Sox game.

The Saturday/Sunday games will again be played at the Randall’s Island Softball complex in Randall’s Island, NY.

Host hotel will again be the Fort Lee NJ Holiday Inn featuring a $90 price.  Call 201-944-5000.

National teams from New Zealand and Argentina, along with Pre-season ISC #1 team NY Gremlins headline the tournament in 2012.  Venezuela club team Lanceros will also be attending the 2012 ISC in Midland, using the Peligro Cup to prepare.   ISC #4 PA Power should be a contender with Lucas Mata in the circle.   NY Safari Swashbucklers stepped into the men’s major fastball scene last year defeating New Zealand in pool play of the 2011 Peligro Cup and look to be even stronger this year playing a full open schedule in 2012. Here is the list of teams that are competing and the schedule will be made in about 2 weeks:

1. Combatientes
2. Industriales
3. Indios
4. Lanceros
5. Padres
6. Lo Tengo.com
7. BBVA Provincial
8. NY Gremlins
9. New Zealand Black Sox
10. Argentina National Team
11. Pa Power
12. NY Safari Swashbucklers

Jamie and I will likely be making an OPEN Facebook page where we can update score and highlights, while adding pictures during the tournament.   You won’t need to be a member of Facebook to follow the tournament.
Anyone needing info can get in touch with me 814-392-3369, or email me houseofpitching@gmail.com or Jamie <Jamie@houseofpitching.com> .

Teams needing uniforms or equipment should really look no further than Peligro Sports <www.peligrosportsnyc.com> for the highest quality product at incredible prices, while supporting someone who supports our game.   For those coming to the tournament, be sure to check out Jose's shop on Amsterdam Ave in Harlem.

I have attached a picture of the field Billy wrote about that will be used for the Friday night games at the Peligro tournament. You can see the Blue outline of the original Yankee Stadium field. The softball field is in the right field corner of the original stadium. Temporary fencing will be used for the outfield. The new Yankees Stadium can be seen across the street.
