Once again, I was able to attend the prestigious ISC World Tournament in South Bend, Indiana.  What a great venue and one of my favorite places to watch a world class event.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was not able to attend the ASA nationals and this caused issues because their stats were not on par with what should be made available for that caliber of event.  In fact, I could find no workable stats..

 

So, I have compiled the statistics for the United States players that I am aware of usually in the mix for the national team and calculated how these players performed against the national team pitchers (NTPs) at the ISC event.  The NTPs are the best of the best, if you will, in the game of men fastpitch.  The USA mens national team has had issues scoring against world class pitching and is this writer’s opinion why they have not been as successful recently as they should be.  The batting average for all players at the ISC in 2013-2015 was in the low .190s.  In South Bend this year, it was just under .190 and should be, as not many players can hit that level of pitching and is a reason why finding hitters who can hit that level of ball is so important to the development of a countries national team.  The American group below hit a combined .247 against NTPs this year which should be a nice sign for the USA selection committee and coaches.

 

The Americans that made the ISC All World team are Nick Mullins, Tyler Dudley, Derrick Kennedy, Kevin Castillo, Shea Bryant & Marcus Tan.  Pat Sagdal of the New York Gremlins led this year's group of Americans at the ISC vs NTPs and Tom Crouch of the Circle Tap Dukes leads all USA players over the last two seasons against the best of the best.

 

Below are how USA players hit against the NTPs at the ISC this year and the actual NTPs they faced at the ISC..  Below that list is how the players have done the last two seasons in the ASA, ISC, Pan Am Qualifier, ISF and Pan Ams.  Again excluding the ASA this year, which I was unable to attend and retrieve or record statistics for.
