At its annual general meeting in 2015 and in subsequent discussion, the International Softball Congress has approved the following rules changes effective for the 2016 season.
A team may apply for an exception to the one (1) PRAWN pitcher limit provided the second PRAWN pitcher is declared ineligible in all circumstances to pitch in the ISC World Tournament, including any hardship appeal.
All bats will be screened for eligibility and tested for tampering or other physical changes prior to each team's first game in the ISC World Tournament. Any bat that is not submitted for testing or does not pass will not be available for use during ISC championship play.
For 2016 only, all junior men's national team members (players and coaches) competing in the 2016 WBSC Junior Men's championship are exempt from the ISC out-of-region player requirements to play with their ISC teams in June and July, but are still subject to all applicable fees.
Please also note that the ISC has rescinded the rule permitting teams to add out-of-region players between May 16 and June 15 for a $500 fee. The ISC will continue to assess requests for exceptions to the May 15 OOR deadline on a case-by-case basis.
