Toronto, ON - Toronto Varsity Blues Women's Fastpitch team has been invited to the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championships!
We are pleased to announce that the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Women's Fastpitch team has been invited to the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championships! The tournament takes place in Saskatoon this October and it would mark the first time in program history that the Blues have competed for a national championship. After a third place finish in Ontario, we believe we are well positioned to win a medal on the national stage.
While this is a major accomplishment for the team, there is a significant financial barrier. The team is looking to raise $20,000 by October to help cover expenses such as travel and lodging for the duration of the event. Without this money, this extremely talented and hard-working group of student-athletes won't have the opportunity to compete for a national championship – a prestigious and most deserved honour!
This significant event is exactly the kind of competition our program needs to attend in order to continue to grow and develop as a fixture in the Canadian softball community. With fourteen players returning to the roster, this team is capable of big things, but they won't get the opportunity to meet their potential without some assistance, which is where you come in. Please help us get to nationals!
