Alvinston, ON - Indians win On the Road !

The Alvinston Indians traveled to Oneida on Thursday, for a rare Thursday night away game against the River Kings. Alvinston sent pitcher Jeff Wise to the mound, while veteran Mike Joseph was on the rubber for Oneida.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the fourth inning, when Mark McNally reached base via an error, stole second base, and then scored on two pass balls, to make the score 1-0. Oneida threatened but left the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth, before Alvinston added 3 runs in the seventh inning, for a 4-0 lead and final score.

Joe Triest tripled and then scored on an RBI double by Jamie Shields. Shields then scored when Jeff Wise clubbed an RBI single, and Wise scored on an RBI double by Kyle McEachern. That was enough offence on this night, as Jeff Wise allowed no runs on 2 walks, with 2 hits and 13 strikeouts, to earn the win for the Indians.

Andy Triest and Kyle McEachern were 2/4 for Alvinston in the game, while Jamie Shields was 1/3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. Rookie Josh Weber had his first hit for the Indians in the win.

Next up for Alvinston is a game against the Charing Cross Juniors in Charing Cross on Friday night at 8:30pm
