I'm very pleased to unveil the official poster for the 2017 Ontario Masters Fastball Hall of Fame. Special thanks to Matt Elick for designing the poster again this year. This year's inductees are Barry Hammond, Craig Minifie and Brian McGuire.
All 3 are class acts and very deserving of this recognition.
Barry "Hammer" Hammond or as I like to call him "My Captain" has won several Ontario Masters Championships as well as a Canadian Masters and ISC Legends World Championship. Barry is a great leader, he leads by example, he provides solid defense at shortstop and can be counted on to get that one important hit in those tight games. Craig Minifie has won Ontario Masters Championships, 2 Canadian Masters Championships, an ASA 50+ National Championship and an ISC Legends World Championship. Craig is great hitter and put on a power hitting clinic for the Cobourg Force at the 2014 ASA 50+ National Fastpitch Championship in Ashland Ohio. Craig was an ASA "All American" selection in Ashland. Brian McGuire has won Ontario Masters Championships and 2 ISC Legends World Championships with 2 different teams. Brian is a leader and a warrior. Brian caught all 7 games in 2 and a half days as he helped the Cobourg Force win the 2014 ISC Legends World Championship, not bad for a 50 year old ! Special thanks to Mark Green who will be printing these posters for the Hall Of Fame ceremony. I would also like to thank the ring sponsors, Alex Rutherford, Bill Fairney, Colborne Rutherflo Fastball and Dave Birnie. And lastly, I would like to thank and acknowledge Sam Forbes, I wasn't sure if the Ontario Masters Fastball Hall of Fame ceremony was going to happen this year but Sammy was a driving force in keeping it alive.
