Wright, Barry Floyd Age 56, born October 27, 1960 in Beechville, NS, passed away on Monday morning, July 24, 2017 at the Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was the son of the late Clarence Cecil Wright and Viola Daisy (Harris) Wright. Predeceased by sisters Sandra Wright and Darcel Wright.

Survived by his loving wife Bridget (Beals)Wright, Daughters, Lacy Simmonds, Berina Wright, Jolisha Wright, sons; Jonathan Ash, Chelsea Brooks, Justus Jones and stepdaughter Latonya (Beals) Nelson (Stephen) and Stepson Demarco Smith. Sisters Carolann (Myles) Wright-Parks, Beechville Shawna Wright, Beechville; brothers Craig (Jackie) Wright, Winnipeg, Lionel Wright (Angela), Truro Derrick Wright, Beechville, Todd (Sandra) Wright, East Preston; Goddaughters Brandie Jones and Cherise (Beals) Higgins, 4 Grandsons, 9 Granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews all of whom he held close to his heart. Best friends George Borden, Randy Johnson. Close friends; Lloyd Deleon, Tanya Howe, Angela Williams, Dwayne Saunders, Shaun Shephard and Arnie Morris.

Barry was a carpenter by trade employed with Level Ten Landworks. He was an avid sportsman playing softball for the Halifax Keiths, Halifax Jaguars, Beechville Rockets and won the Top Player Honors in 1998 when he was the only player to score and win the Halifax Jaguars the Softball Canadian Championships played in Windsor. Also, he was inducted into the softball hall of fame in 2007. Barry wore #24 proudly throughout his softball career and we will forever hold the number in our hearts not only as the number he was so proud to wear, but the date to which he made his entrance into glory.

He took pride in playing basketball for the PBBA (Provincial Black Basketball Association), a golfer with a good swing and a bowler with a good string. Barry was also a DJ better known as DJ Wright Time. His love for cars could be seen on the sunny days when he would take out his 1997 red corvette for a drive through town but not before spending countless hours shining it to a perfect gloss.

Visitation will be held Friday July 28th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the JA Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax. Funeral Saturday July 29th at 1pm, New Beginnings Ministries Service 26 Cherry Brook Rd, Cherry Brook, NS B2Z 1A8 officiated by Rev. Kirby Spivy III assisted by Rev. Lloyd Grant. Interment at the Beechville Baptist Church Cemetery 1135 St. Margaret's Bay Rd. Followed by Repast in the church hall.
