Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of athletes who have been selected to represent Canada next summer at the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship from July 7-15 in Prince Albert, Sask. The final roster has been determined following a Selection Camp held in O’Leary, P.E.I. in August following the completion of the U18 Men’s Canadian Championship.
 
“With the team now selected, we are looking forward to working with our athletes as we prepare them for the World Championship in 2018” stated Jeff Ellsworth, Head Coach of the Junior Men’s National Team. “We asked the athletes to make our team selection decisions difficult and they did not disappoint. We are very pleased with the high level of competitiveness they displayed throughout the identification and selection process. ”
 
Earlier this year, the coaching staff held a series of provincial and regional identification camps throughout the country that attracted just under 200 athletes.
 
Team Canada earned the bronze medal at the previous Junior Men’s World Championship held in Midland, Michigan in 2016, with Japan winning gold and New Zealand claiming silver.
