Waterloo, ON - - Laurier's Bobbi Sue Hentges Named Athlete of the Week
Bobbi Sue Hentges of the Laurier Golden Hawks has been named the Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association Athlete of the Week for week five, the final week of the regular season. Â
Hentges was a rock for the Golden Hawks in their final two games of the regular season against the Windsor Lancers as the Golden Hawks were victorious in both games, by scores of 6-0 and 12-4.
Manning the defense at shortstop for the Golden Hawks, Hentges made a number of stellar plays to halt any potential for the Lancers to gain momentum in both games. She also set the tone at the top of the Laurier lineup with two triples, a single, two SAC fly’s and scored four times over the two games.
The Golden Hawks will now host the top eight university softball teams this weekend for the Provincial Championships, October 14-15 at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener.
