Singapore has strong softball and baseball teams. According to the Singapore Baseball and Softball Association, this year is lined up with tournaments just like last year. The association works hard to ensure that Singapore is in line with other softball and baseball teams around the world as well as the rules that globally govern them. Josephine Lim Tournament

This tournament started on the 9th of February and went all the Way to the 11th of February 2018. For those who are new to Singapore, this tournament helps people in Singapore to remember the famous coach Josephine Lim. She passed away recently, and this was the 2nd tournament in her name.

People who participated in this three-day tournament registered online at a cost of $25 per person. The venue of the event was Kallang Field, which is large enough to accommodate people comfortably as they watch sports events.

Baseball Catches Hearts Event

The event was organized by the SBSA together with health facilities to promote heart health in November 2017. Even though there was rain on the Sunday when it took place, people came in significant numbers to enjoy and support the health-related event. The tournament went well and was a great success at the end of the day.

It was important that the event was attended by all the big names you can imagine. Some of them included ambassadors of foreign countries, CEOs, executive officials from SBSA and big names from the fashion industry among others. The money raised was to go towards helping the health sector in their work of combating heart diseases.

Men’s Training Camp

Even though this event was not attended by the public, it is an example of how the baseball and softball teams in Singapore are working hard. The men were out in October 2017 to prepare for the Championship 2017, which was held in Hong Kong later in the year. Coach Farhan was in charge of the weekend training, where the team members had to camp in the fields.

According to the team members, the experience was good because they bonded and trained at the same time. It was a time to show coordination and togetherness, which is crucial even when in the field. All ended well, and the team felt ready for the championship by the time they were leaving.

Women’s Team Training in Malaysia

As the men camped, the women’s team headed to Kedah to play a friendship tournament against the team there. This was in preparation for the Asian Women’s Softball Championship, which as just around the corner. It also showed that the SBSA is serious about the sport and never overlooks anything.
