Wellington, NZ - - White Sox Appoint Top Pitching Coach
New Zealand White Sox have made a significant coup in securing the services of former Australian women’s pitcher Kelly Hardie.
Hardie a two time bronze medal Olympian has racked up numerous medals and accolades throughout her extensive pitching and coaching career.
The Softball Australia Hall of Famer will be a welcomed addition to the White Sox coaching staff given the challenges the team faced at the WBSC World Champs in Chiba, Japan last August.
Hardie will join the team for the upcoming Asia Pacific Cup late next month in Sydney where she will have the opportunity to work with a new look White Sox team against some of the best teams in the world. As the Aussie Spirit Battery Coach from 2011-2018 Hardie will provide invaluable insights and a wealth of knowledge into the international game for the New Zealand White Sox.
“I am honoured and excited to work with the New Zealand White Sox program. The White Sox women's programme has a long and rich history in the sport of softball, winning a World championship in 1982. I trust that I can bring a level of professionalism and structure to the battery program and provide an environment that is conducive to success at international levelâ€, says Hardie.
