OKLAHOMA CITY — In an effort to improve the fitness and health for all Oklahomans, Olympic Gold Medalists Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci are providing free fun for the whole family at their 10th annual Bart & Nadia Sports Experience. USA Softball, along with other sports organizations within the Oklahoma City community, will have interactive sports and fitness activities and demonstrations that are free and open to the public from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Cox Convention Center.

“We are honored to provide a free opportunity for kids to get excited about sports, and maybe they will learn a little about health and wellness, and making positive life choices,” said Conner. “We are especially grateful to our partners and sponsors that help to provide activities such as basketball, rowing, slack lining, tennis, softball, gymnastics, crosscut, baseball, judo, cricket and BMX.”

Prior to Saturday’s public event, there will be a kids day welcoming students from local elementary schools on Friday, Feb. 15. Current USA Softball Women’s National Team member and University of Oklahoma alum Shelby Pendley will make an appearance as one of four inspirational speakers to share how she got started playing softball and the importance of staying active.

In addition to USA Softball, powerhouses partnering with Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci in the Sports Experience include the OKC Boathouse Foundation, the University of Central Oklahoma, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the University of Oklahoma, the United States Tennis Association, International Judo Federation, the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the OKC Strikers cricket team, OKC Energy, Sooner Crossfit, and Special Olympics Oklahoma.

As part of the experience weekend, Bart and Nadia are hosting an NCAA women’s gymnastics competition as well as multiple age group gymnastics competitions for boys and girls.

“We are not only excited to be hosting a weekend full of gymnastics, but we are thrilled to be providing Oklahomans with a day of free health information and fun fitness activities to promote and encourage healthy lifestyles,” said Comaneci.
