FORT MYERS, Fla. –– Members of the 2022 Men’s National Team (MNT) have arrived in Fort Myers, Fla. as the team begins preparations for the 2022 Americas Qualifier, which will now take place in April of this year following a recent postponement. Held Jan. 22-28 at CenturyLink Sports Complex, the U.S. will compete in four games against “Team Roman” and “Team Varm” – which will be made up of elite men’s fast pitch athletes from across the U.S. – followed by a five-game series against Czech Republic and a solo contest against Hill United to cap the first MNT training event of the year.

The Red, White and Blue will kick off competition with a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 22 starting at 1 p.m. ET followed by another doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Game two for both days will take place approximately 35 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The U.S. will continue its training on Monday, Jan. 24 with the start of a five-game series against Czech Republic, facing off in two doubleheaders before capping the series with a solo contest on Thursday, Jan. 27. A final matchup against Hill United on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. ET will conclude the week-long training for the MNT. Live streaming and live stats will be available through USASoftball.com.

Previously announced in February 2021, Ron Hackett (Richmond, Va.) will lead the U.S. as head coach of the MNT for the 2022 season following his two-year stint as assistant coach. Nick McCurry (Ashland, Ohio), Gerald Muizelaar (Grand Forks, N.D.) and Ron Guzman (Salinas, Calif.) will join Hackett as assistants on staff after being recently selected from the USA Softball MNT Coaching Pool.

All exhibition games are open to the public with free admission.
