U.S. Women's National Team clinches Pan American Championship gold medal with 12-1 run-rule over Canada

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – Capping a dominant week in Guatemala City, the U.S. Women's National Team (WNT) clinched the Pan American Championship gold medal after defeating Canada 12-1 in a four-inning run-rule. The Eagles combined for 12 hits in the win with home runs off the bats of Sahvanna Jaquish and Amanda Lorenz, while Aubrey Leach shined with a 3-for-3 day at the plate - her third perfect offensive performance of the tournament. Getting the start in the circle for Team USA was Megan Faraimo who limited the Canadian offense to one run before Rachel Garcia stepped in for their final three at-bats in the top of the fourth inning - two of which were retired via a strikeout.

Tonight's gold medal victory earned the Red, White and Blue a spot in the Stage 1 qualifying event for the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup – the first WBSC event to be played under the two-stage format. Additional information for this event will be announced at a later date.
