Hello Fastpitch World,

This is probably not breaking news to anyone, but it was decided on September 11, 2024 that the Circle Tap Dukes Men’s Major Fastpitch team would discontinue operations.  This was an extremely difficult decision and there were many factors that played a part in the decision, but in the end, you will not see the Dukes on the field in 2025.  Some players moved on before the decision was made, some have found new homes in the days after.  We still have a couple outstanding ballplayers that are looking for a place to play in 2025, so feel free to reach out so we can get them on a roster. 

In Darren’s words, “it’s been a heck of a run.”  Sponsoring an organization of this magnitude for 30 years is not an easy task.  The team evolved over the years as the game changed.  100’s of players and coaches from all over the world donned the CT Green over the years.  We thank them for their contribution to the organization and making CT Fastpitch what it was.  If I were to name them all individually and give a story, I’d be able to publish a book.  Just know that you all were special to the CT Family.   In the mid 2000’s we would get 20-30 emails each offseason from players looking to join the squad.  CT was the team a lot of guys wanted to be a part of.  Unfortunately, we just couldn’t take everyone and turned away a few future superstars.

We will never forget the long car rides and the flights all over the US and Canada.  Seeing so many new places and ballparks.  The game has brought us so much joy and allowed us to meet so many people from all over the world.  Those are the things that we will never forget and will cherish.  Guys playing cards and drinking a few cold ones after the games, the comradery, discussing life on and off the field.  The thrilling wins, the heartbreaking defeats, the countless times you can say, “I’ve been around a long -time and I’ve never seen that before.”  Each town we play in there is some memory that we’ll be talking about for years to come.  There is nothing like being a part of a fastpitch club.  Each team is run a little differently, but the root of it all should be the love of the game.

The Boys of Summer tournament will carry on as normal in 2025… and as long as teams want to play at Circle Tap.  We would like to think that would be for a very long time.  Will CT Fastpitch ever resurface??  Nothing is out of the question, but for now, we must say goodbye.
