Mixed bag of results for the New Zealand Under 19 Men’s Developmentteam

It has been a mixed bag of results for the New Zealand Under 19 Men’sDevelopment team today on day two of the Friendship Series in Sydney,Australia.

The Kiwi team opened the day with their first loss of the series goingdown against Australia Green 4-1 before hammering Titans 10-0.

Against Australia the New Zealand team were out hit and out powered asthe Aussie team always had control of the game. Canterbury’s KyleBeaudoin scored New Zealand’s only run of the game while Jovaan Hanley ofHawkes Bay was on the mound.

It was a different story in the second game of the day as the New Zealandteam were convincing 10-0 victors in just five innings. Standing out withthe bat were Jovaan Hanley and Sam Bishop from Wellington who bothsmashed home runs with Bishop’s coming with two runners on base.

While dominant with the bat Bishop also had control of the game on themound when as the starting pitcher he shut the Titans out. Jamie Love ofAuckland replaced Bishop on the mound in the fifth inning.

Round robin play in the Friendship Series continues tomorrow for the NewZealand team as they take on New South Wales Metro at 11am (NZ time) andNew South Wales Country at 1pm (NZ time).
