Durham’s Samantha Langford selected for the OCAA Hall of
Fame

NORTH YORK, Ont. – Samantha Langford was a standout volleyball
and fastball player for the Durham College Lords for four seasons. Her ability
to consistently perform at a high level on the court, diamond and classroom has
now placed her among the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s (OCAA) finest.
This past week, Langford was elected into the OCAA Hall of Fame Class of
2013

The OCAA Hall of Fame is dedicated to honouring the
extraordinary accomplishments of athletes, coaches and builders that have made
significant contributions to the OCAA throughout their careers. This year, 49
new members will be recognized in the sixth OCAA Hall of Fame ceremony, to be
held at the Delta London Armouries in London, Ont. on Wednesday, May 1. The OCAA
Hall of Fame was established in 2003. Including this year's induction,
membership will expand to 345 individuals.

“Samantha was the true
definition of a student-athlete, and embodied all the qualities that Durham
College looks for in their players,” said Durham College Athletic Director Ken
Babcock. “As a leader both in the classroom and in sport, Samantha’s hard work
and accomplishments has earned her this honour of being inducted into the OCAA
Hall of Fame.”

Langford becomes the 31st Durham College member of the
OCAA Hall of Fame. Prior to 2013, Durham has had 23 student-athletes, five
coaches and two builders inducted into the Hall of Fame.
