(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the seventeen (17) players who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2013 VIII Women’s Pan American Championship in San Juan, Puerto Rico from August 10-18, 2013. This event will serve as a qualifier for the 2014 ISF Women’s World Championship which will take place July 18-24, 2014 in Haarlem, Netherlands and also for the 2015 Pan American Games, which will be held in July, 2015 in Toronto, ON.
The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team recently finished fourth at both the US World Cup of Softball VIII in Oklahoma City and the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship in Surrey, BC.
Team Canada will also be competing with Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the United States in the Francisco "Paco" Reyes Cup scheduled for August 4-9 prior to the event in Puerto Rico. The teams will play a single round robin, followed by a short playoff round.
