USA Softball PINK auction for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® runs through September 24

 

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America/USA Softball continues its fundraising efforts for Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma September 14-24 with the seventh annual “Pink Auction”. From now through September 24 at 12 P.M. CT, fans have the opportunity to bid through eBay on 18 autographed items from the USA Softball Women’s National Team “Pink Out” games at the annual General Tire World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City.

USA Softball Pink Auction items including autographed, game-worn jerseys as well as jersey’s autographed by the entire 2014 USA Softball Women’s National Team. Only items listed by Softball Outlet are a part of the benefit auction for Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma.  All items are accompanied by a USA Softball certificate of authenticity.

 

Since the inception of the “Pink Out” auction in 2008, ASA/USA Softball has raised over $65,000 for Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma through the auctioning of game-worn USA Softball jerseys as well as bats, cleats, helmets and other softball apparel. ASA/USA Softball raised $25,000 in 2008, $12,500 in 2009, $13,000 in 2010, $6,400 in 2011, $4,000 in 2012 and $5,700 in 2013 while also creating additional awareness for the foundation by wearing specially made pink USA Softball jerseys on international television broadcasts.

 

Note: Per NCAA rules, items worn by and only signed by athletes with remaining college eligibility cannot be auctioned off at this time. These items will be auctioned at a later date once the athletes have exhausted their college eligibility. All auction items that include the entire 2014 USA Softball team’s autographs do include the autographs of the current college athletes.

 

About Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma

Since 1994, Komen Central and Western Oklahoma has granted over $9.5 million.  With the support of our signature fundraiser, the Race for the Cure®, we will award over $750,000 toward the fight against breast cancer by funding grassroots educational programs as well as national research.  Up to seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Affiliate are dedicated to fighting breast cancer in its 47 County  Service Area.  Grants are awarded each year to local hospitals and community organizations that provide innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved women.  A minimum of twenty-five percent of the net proceeds raised by Komen Central and Western Oklahoma fund the national breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen Grants Program.  Partnerships with corporate sponsors and community organizations allows us to continue holding the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, as well as other fundraisers, including the Pink Tie Ball and Paddle for the Cure.
