theswitchMONEYBALL Plus Fitness 24/7 Windsor Home Run Contest Rules

theswitchMONEYBALL Plus Fitness 24/7 Windsor Home Run Contest brings together the biggest hitters to slug it out for a massive $1000 winner’s prize on the afternoon of Saturday October 11, 2014.

 

Below are the rules for this competition:

 

·         Each team competing in theswitchMONEYBALL Open Men’s Fastpitch competition will select one batter and one pitcher from their team list to compete. Participants names must be notified to a theswitchMONEYBALL Organising Committee Member by no later than midday on Saturday, October 11

·         Additionally, there will be one competitor chosen by the sponsor to compete for the prize at the sponsors discretion

·         All pitches must be delivered as a “legal” softball pitch as per the rules governing theswitchMONEYBALL Open Men’s Fastpitch competition. Blue umpires will be officiating all activities

·         Pitches can be as fast or as slow as desired, provided they are a “legal” delivery

·         Any hit that is not an automatic home run over fair territory is an “out”

·         Not every pitch must be swung at by the batter, but, in the event that four pitches in a row are left by the batter this constitutes an “out”

·         Each batter has a total of five “outs” before their turn is complete

·         After one completed round, the top three batters (and any equally tied participants) advance to the final

·         For the final- all scores are returned to zero

·         Each finalist receives an additional five “outs” each

·         In the event that a tie remains after these outs, sudden death will be entered where all batters tied on the most home runs will have one “out”. After this single “out”, it will be the other competitors turn

·         This will continue until a winner has been found in “sudden death”

·         There will only be one winner

·         Any arguments or objections will be handled by the umpires on the field officiating the event

 

Spectators should have their gloves ready and their eyes peeled.  Juniors will have the opportunity to be involved by being paired with a participant assisting as their bat boy.
