2015 Women’s National Softball Team Selection Camp

(Ottawa, ON) The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp this week (December 17-22) in Clearwater, Florida with 23 players from the Women’s National Team Athlete Pool competing for a spot on the 2015 roster. Team Canada will be competing in three events next summer, including the US World Cup of Softball from June 29 to July 5 in Irvine, California, the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship from July 6-14 in Surrey, British Columbia and the Pan American Games from July 19-26 in Ajax, Ontario.
 
Following the selection camp, the coaching staff will continue to monitor the athletes from the Women’s National Team Athlete Pool who will be competing in college/university. Joey Lye (Toronto, ON) and Jen Yee (North Delta, BC) will both be considered for the final roster but will not be attending the Selection Camp.
 
“Twenty-five athletes vying for fifteen roster spots plus three alternates is what this opportunity represents” said Women’s National Team Head Coach Mark Smith. “Playing in the third largest multisport event in the world on home soil should be a huge motivator for these athletes. We are excited to observe the level of compete in this group and who can step up over the next six days.”
