2014 Softball Canada AGM

The 2014 Softball Canada Annual General Meeting was held November 12-15 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Representatives from the Provincial and Territorial Associations attended the event, with a full day of strategic planning meetings followed by excellent workshops and discussions on how to improve the sport throughout the country.

Senior Women's National Team

The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp this week (December 17-22) in Clearwater, Florida with 23 players from the Women’s National Team Athlete Pool competing for a spot on the 2015 roster.

Senior Men's National Team

Following the timelines of the Men’s National Team Selection Criteria, the Team Canada coaching staff has identified a group of seven (7) core players and thirteen (13) additional players who have been invited to attend the 2015 Senior Men’s National Team Selection Camp that will be held in May, 2015.

Umpiring Clinic in Jamaica

Softball Canada National Director of Umpires Jeff Whipple and ODC member Gary Skjerven travelled to Jamaica to help them develop their own umpiring program. They delivered Softball Canada National Officials Certification Program (NOCP) clinics to over thirty Jamaica Amateur Softball Association officials. Fourteen new umpires, including eight teenagers, attended a Level I clinic while another twenty more experienced umpires received Level II certification.

Softball Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Sal Gara (Gatineau, QC) as the newest member of the Officiating Development Committee. He will serve a two-year term beginning in November 2014.
