Softball Congress World Tournament Qualifier
(Bloomington, IL) – The Bloomington (IL) Stix swept through their own All Seasons Roofing Mid-Summer Classic, finishing 4-0 in the 5-team round robin that also served as a qualification event for the International Softball Congress World Tournament in August.
In what proved to be the marquee game, the Stix outlasted Denmark (WI) Circle Tap in a 13-6 slugfest that ended after midnight Saturday. Circle Tap was back at the ballpark early and routed the USA Men’s Junior National Team 12-1 in five innings before completing play against ISC Tournament host Walcott Lamplighter 11-0.
The USA Men’s Junior National Team had a successful showing, finishing 2-2 in four exhibition games coupled with a weeklong training camp in Bloomington.
