Orillia District Fastball League Tournament

It was another exciting year at the Orillia District Fastball League Tournament this past weekend as 15 teams from all over central ontario came to Kitchener Park to challenge for the tournament title. Last years champions the Lake Simcoe Lightning from Sharon (Near Newmarket) repeated as champions as they beat the Central Fairbank Lumberjacks from Mississauga 10-3 in the A-Finals. The
B-Finals was a very interesting and heated affair between the Mississauga Sox and Reed's Scrap Shack from Rama. Reed's was on the cusp of victory with the Sox down 8-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning rallied with 4 runs to take the
B-Finals against a Reed's Scrap Shack team that had a great tournament to that point. The
C-Finals was a local affair with the Brechin edging the Udney Bullets 6-5.
League play resume on Tuesday night with a doubleheader in Rama starting at 6:30pm with Reed's Scrap Shack hosting the Udney Bullets which will be follow by the Rama Braves taking on the first place Calson Waggonlit Travellers. There is also another game on the schedule in Brechin when the Smokin' Aces take on the Brechin Merchants at 7pm. On friday the battle of Rama will start at 7pm in Rama and the Aces will host the Udney Bulletsat the Ramara Centre. Fastball will return to Kitchener park on Sunday at 6:15pm when Brechin comes to town play the Carlson Waggonlit Travellers. For more information on the O.D.F.L. visit
