NEWMARKET MINOR SOFTBALL RECEIVES 4-STAR SAFE STAR RATING!
NORTH YORK, ON - Softball Ontario relaunched the SAFE Star program in February at the Get in the Game Symposium with new a new scoring system to make it easier for softball associations to receive a one-star rating.
Newmarket Minor Softball Association (NMSA) has become the first Softball Association Fundamental Excellence (SAFE) Star Rated Softball Association in Ontario since the relaunch of the program. Earning a four-star rating, Newmarket has demonstrated their commitment to providing their community with a high quality softball program. "While any Softball organization's player registrations are important as a source of revenue, we want to be known as an organization that is committed to produce better softball players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and an overall better organization", states Vince Scaccia, President of Newmarket Minor Softball Association.Â
Softball Ontario acknowledges SAFE Star Rated Softball Associations for their efforts in the four (4) Pillars of Excellence that make up the SAFE Star Program: Organizational Development, Volunteer Development, Long Term Player Development and Softball Ontario Participation. By achieving Softball Ontario’s standards in all four Pillars of Excellence, Newmarket Minor Softball Association's commitment to ensuring a quality softball program within their community shines through. "Softball Ontario's 4 Star Rating will assist us in reaffirming that commitment not only to the players and parents and to the softball community at large but more importantly to the Newmarket and surrounding communities.  NMSA is ready to not only better ourselves but to continue to promote and grow the great game of Softball, but to do so by utilizing Softball Canada's Long-Term Player Development model and Softball Ontario's programs."
