GILLESPIE - Carl Taylor "Pete" Kulenkamp, 71, of Gillespie died 9:10 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 15, 2006). Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gilllespie, with Pastor Rachel A. Stockle officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with 7:30 p.m. Masonic services. Burial: Thursday, Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville. Memorials: donor's choice. Mr. Kulenkamp was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Dorchester, the son of Roy and Carrie Taylor Kulenkamp. He was a retired insurance salesman for Shelter Insurance Co. and an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 214 AF & AM, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 430 and VFW Post 4547, all of Gillespie. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of Masonic Lodge 48 of Carrollton, St. Omer Commandery, Shrine Club of Macoupin and Montgomery County, Ansar Shrine and No. 30 Knights Templar. He was a softball pitcher and coach for 53 years, and is in the Illinois Softball Hall of Fame and St. Louis Softball Hall of Fame. He married Alice Smith on Aug. 27, 1966, in Gillespie. Surviving are his wife; son, Roy (Kathy) Kulenkamp of Carlinville; daughters, Carrie (Roger) Banovz of Carterville; Izetta (Jeff) Wiggs of Vienna; grandchildren, Carley Kulenkamp, Reagan Kulenkamp, Brice Wiggs, Braden Wiggs, Blake Kulenkamp, Bethany Banovz, Zachary Banovz and Abigail Banovz; sisters, Eleanor Reiniesch of Gillespie; Gloria (Norman) Henschen, Alhambra; brother-in-law, Leonard Hammann of Carlinville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ina Kulenkamp; sister, Bertie Hammann; and brother-in-law, Gene Philippi. PEORIA - Jeffrey J. "Bubba" Bell, 44, of Peoria passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1961, in Taylorville, Ill., to Robert E. and Mary F. Dunn Bell. He married Teri L. O'Brien on Oct. 7, 1989, at St. Thomas Church in Peoria Heights. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Taylorville; two sons, Nathan and Nicholas Bell, both at home; and one sister, Juli Bell of St. Louis, Mo.
He was sales manager at Coleman Printing in Peoria for 24 years.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and its Men's Club, Independent Sports Club, Bradley Braves Club and Old Timers Baseball Association.
He also was a member of the Bloomington Hearts and River City Rage Men's Manor Fast Pitch Softball Teams. He coached several youth teams in basketball and baseball.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with Rev. Jason Gray officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. Vincent de Paul Church and one hour before the Mass at church. Wright and Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
