Softball improves to 9-3 with sweep of Sting

Game One: Durham defeated Seneca 13-0
Game Two: Durham defeated Seneca 11-3
TORONTO, Ont. - The Durham College women's softball team has swept their season series against the Seneca Sting.
On the road in Toronto on Thursday night, the Lords opened the doubleheader with a 13-0 victory in six innings before an 11-3 win to wrap up the night.
Caitlyn Omelanchuk (Whitby, Ont.) led Durham offensively in the first game of the night, going 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and a run scored. Chloe Crawford (Mississauga, Ont.) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Hope Eagleson (Plattsville, Ont.) was 1-for-1 with a pair of RBIs and a run.
In the second game Omelanchuk's hot bat continued as she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, but it was Tara Robinson (Mount Albert, Ont.) who drove in the most runs as she was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Mariah Gallant (Bowmanville, Ont.) was 1-for-1 in her lone at bat, but had 2 RBIs and a run.
The Lords now travel to Kitchener on Sunday for a doubleheader against the Conestoga Condors to makeup Tuesday's games, which were postponed due to rain.
Durham's next home game is Tuesday at Durham Field against Conestoga. First pitch is 6 p.m.
