North York, ON- Softball Ontario is pleased to announce its partnership with Peterborough Thunder Softball and Cobourg Jr. Angels Softball in hosting CANpitch 6-week sessions. CANpitch is Softball national pitching program created to provide nationally standardized curriculum based on Softball’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) framework for effective teaching at each level. The scheduled start dates are as follows:

October 26, 2015- Coborug, ON

November 2, 2015- Peterborough

CANpitch Training Session Stages

FUNdamentals Stage - 1 hour, 1 x per week (6 weeks total)
* Provides each participant with the proper instruction on grip, wrist snap, arm rotation, and stride
* Each participant is expected to practice at least one (1) time per week in addition to their 1- hour training session. This will enable the instructor to further develop the basic fundamentals over the course of six weeks

Learn to Train Stage - 1 hour, 1 x per week (6 weeks total)
* has participants rebuilding their fundamental mechanics and additionally focuses on the coordination of the arms and legs, the power line and throwing strikes
* Each participant is expected to practice at least one (1) time per week in addition to their 1- hour training session. This will enable the instructor to further develop the basic fundamentals over the course of six weeks
