Men's National Team Athlete Pool
(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of forty (40) athletes who have been named to the 2016 Men's National Team Athlete Pool. The coaching staff will select up to twenty-two (22) athletes from the Athlete Pool to attend a Men's National Team Development Camp from June 2-5, 2016 in Kitchener, ON.
Team Canada head coach John Stuart (Langley, BC) and assistant coaches John Hill (St. John's, NL) and Les Howey (Conception Bay, NL) will return to the team for the two-year cycle culminating with the 2017 WBSC Men's World Softball Championship in Whitehorse, YT, where Canada will be defending its World title.
The Men's National Team is coming off their best year ever in 2015, capturing Gold at both the WBSC Men's World Softball Champions in Saskatoon and the Pan American Games in Toronto.
"After seeing the young talent in Canada over last two years, we are very excited as a staff to know the future of Men's Fastpitch Softball in Canada is in excellent shape" stated Stuart.
