International Players Visit OCDFL
June 23, 2016
Â
The last two weeks have seen some interesting events in the OCDFL. Several international players whom are staying locally have gladly joined with our teams to get in some playing time. You know you meet the nicest people in fastball and these fellas have been just as expected. We have welcomed Jerome 'the hitting machine' Raemaki and Jerome 'dont lead off to far cause here it comes' McKenzie both from New Zealand. Joining them the first night in bitter cold for him, Pablo Ortiz from the Dominican Republic a cannon for a throwing arm. I think he has been more comfortable lately. Juan Potolicchio, world class pitcher and Santiago Pividori an upcoming outfielder both from Panama, Argentina joined the Oshawa BB Jrs in Scarborough June 21. Juan is as expected with his arsenal of pitches and treated the boys as equals. The Athletics hosted Jorge Lima, smooth defensive shortstop, from Venezula. Pablo Ortiz and Jerome McKenzie also competed with the Scarborough boys. Jerome Raemaki played with the Jrs and led the way at the plate as you might expect. Pleasure to have these quality players join us even if it only lasts a while. Go to Current Schedule tab and check the boxscores for results in Week 6 and 7. ocdfl.ca
