Oklahoma City, OK - Media Information: World Cup of Softball XI
The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) Hall of Fame Complex – OGE Energy Field – INTEGRIS Field in Oklahoma City is proud to host a record-12 countries who will compete at the World Cup of Softball XI set to take place July 5-10, in addition to a number of Men’s Slow Pitch teams who will play in Border Battle VIII held July 4-6. Fans will have the opportunity to watch both the USA Softball Women’s National and Elite Teams participate in the World Cup of Softball, while the USA Softball Men’s National Slow Pitch National Team and USA Softball Slow Pitch Futures Team will see action in the Slow Pitch Showdown and Border Battle.

Game Schedule
The three-day Border Battle VIII will kick off at 1 p.m. Monday, July 4, with the highly anticipated Border Battle, featuring Team USA vs Team Canada, set to begin at 6 p.m. CT July 6. Team USA will also face the USA Futures Team in the Slow Pitch Showdown July 5 at 6 p.m. CT. For the complete Border Battle VIII schedule, click here.

The World Cup of Softball officially starts July 5, with Team USA on the lookout to capitalize on last year’s 7-1 record. The Women’s Elite Team will start off for the Red, White and Blue when they face the Czech Republic on July 5 on OGE Energy Field at 12:30 p.m. CT, while the Women’s National Team will compete against the Philippines at 3 p.m. CT. Media members who wish to attend the World Cup of Softball XI and/or Border Battle VIII are asked to submit a media credential request form to Katie Willis (kwillis@softball.org) by no later than Friday, July 1. A media application is attached to this email and is also available on the USA Softball Media Page. *Please disregard the seven-day advance notice for this event.
