The schedule is set for the 2016 version of the Cephas Roth Memorial Tournament and we are pleased to host one of our strongest field of teams to date. Our volunteers are also ready to welcome the teams and fans and treat everyone to a weekend of small town hospitality and International fastball entertainment!

 

 This year's event kicks off a day early with the Czech Republic Junior Nationals taking on both Tavistock Athletic Junior teams in an exhibition doubleheader on Wednesday July 13th at 7:00pm and 9:00pm at the Queens Park. The beverage area and bbq will be up and running and there are no gate fees for the Wednesday night match ups. 

 

Tournament play begins on Thursday night ‎with  Team Canada Juniors taking on the Kitchener Hallman Cubs at 7:00pm followed by the Shakespeare Falcons and the Czech Republic Juniors at 9:00pm at the Queens Park. Over at Optimist Park, the Tavistock Athletics Juniors will square off with the Elmira Expos in a 7:00pm game. 

 

Friday will begin a full slate of games on all 3 diamonds (Queens, Optimist and Shakespeare) starting at 5:00pm. Tavistock will play the Australian Juniors (Queens), Shakespeare will take on the Toronto Gators (Shakespeare) and Kitchener will do battle with the Waterdown Hammer (Optimist). Games continue on all 3 diamonds at 7:00pm and 9:00pm as well (see the complete schedule previously posted on Al's Fastball web site). 

Opening Ceremonies will take place at the Queens Park just prior to the 7:00pm tilt between the Hill United Chiefs and Team Canada. 

 

Saturday begins another full day of great match ups at all 3 parks beginning at 9:00am. The Quarter Finals are scheduled for Sunday at 9:00am at Queens and Optimist, followed by both semi finals at 11:00am on both Tavistock diamonds. The Championship Final is slated for 2:00pm at the Queens Park. 

 

All 3 facilities will have food and non-alcoholic beverages available throughout the weekend. The licensed area will be located at the Queens Park. 

‎Throughout the weekend you will run into some of our young Tavistock Ball Players working through the crowd selling 50 / 50 tickets. The draws will take place on Friday night during the last scheduled game, Saturday night during the last scheduled game and Sunday during the Championship Final. All proceeds from this event go to the Tavistock Minor Ball Association as we work together to keep our youth "Playing The Game"!  The winning 50 /50 numbers will be posted on the main draw board at the beverage tent at Queens Park. 

 

With our youth in  mind, we will also be hosting the North Waterloo Pee Wee Boys All Star Game at 9:00am at the Optimist Park prior to the Hill United game versus the Kitchener Hallman Cubs. Come out a little early and catch a glimpse of some of the fastball  stars of the future.

 

Weekend Passes will be sold for $20 each with single day passes for $10 each. Camping is available for $40 for the weekend per unit.  Electricity is available on a BYOC policy (Bring Your Own Chords). Please bring your water tanks full as the park is not equipped for additional water hook ups.
