Midland, MI - Junior Black Sox finish pool play with a win over South Africa at World Softball Champs
The Temperzone Junior Black Sox made light work of their final pool game against South Africa at the WBSC World Championships this morning in Midland, USA winning 16-1 in 4 innings.

New Zealand jumped out to an early lead racking up sixteen runs in the first three innings allowing the kiwis to put the game away early.

Harrison Valk was the star with the bat collecting four RBIs on three hits for the Juniors.

Sam Marley got the job done for New Zealand on the mound allowing only one run. Marley struck out two, walked none and gave up just two hits.

South African pitcher Dale Freemantle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision and was charged with the loss. Freemantle gave up 11 runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three with no strike outs.

New Zealand have 4 wins from 5 games after completion of pool play. Play offs commence tomorrow at 9am with New Zealand likely to play world champions Argentina who are currently top of pool A.
