ISC appoints John Thompson as Hall of Fame Coordinator
Â
For Immediate Release  Â
Â
September 27, 2016 – Larry Fisher, Executive Director of the International Softball Congress, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Thompson, of Waterloo, Ontario, as ISC Hall of Fame Coordinator, formalizing a position John has filled since 2011.
Â
“When the ISC assumed the costs and responsibility for the annual Hall of Fame Breakfast and Induction Ceremony, there were a lot of questions as to what we could do and how long we could do it,†said Fisher. “When I talked with John that very same afternoon, he said ‘I’ll see what I can do.’’’
Â
Thompson has not only kept the Hall of Fame Breakfast and Induction Ceremony alive these past six years, but he has truly emphasized the “ceremony†of this very important part of the ISC World Tournament and made it an event.
Â
“Since 2011, John’s ‘I’ll see what I can do’ has provided 31 Hall of Fame inductees, their families and friends with a morning they will remember for the rest of their lives,†said Fisher, noting that Thompson’s official appointment is long overdue.
Â
Thompson was inducted into the ISC Hall of Fame in 2014, receiving the Bob Welby Memorial Recognition of Service Award for his long tenured devotion to the game in Waterloo and to the ISC.
Â
The ISC welcomes John Thompson in his formal role and we will all look forward to continuing the successful Hall of Fame Breakfasts for many more years.
