May 17, 2018

Cambridge, ON - - Update on OASA Provincials for Masters (40+) and Legends (50+)

The Ontario Amateur Softball Association is hosting their annual men's fastpitch softball Provincial Championships from July 20-22 in Cambridge for Masters and Legends teams. The OASA hosts three championships at this event.

There is a 50+ Legends which has been well attended by Ontario teams in past years. The OASA has verbal committments from five teams for this year: Waterdown, Waterloo, Ottawa, Bracebridge and Toronto Scout Logistics.

There is also an event for Ontario 40+ fastball teams with players born in 1978 or earlier, known as the Masters category. Teams are entered into pool play and then advance to either the A or B division. The OASA has verbal commitments from six teams so far this year: St Thomas, Wellington, Grimsby, West Carleton, Waterdown and Kitchener.

Tournament co-director Mike Goodridge stated: "I feel we may be missing out on potential teams that play in the many fastball leagues throughout the province. The OASA is hoping to generate further interest in Masters and Legends fastpitch in Ontario for these provincial championships."
