Alvinston, ON - - Alvinston Game 3 vs Port
The Alvinston Aces hit the road for game three of their series versus Port Stanley on a humid Tuesday night, looking for the first round sweep. The Aces sent Bryan Johnson to the circle for his first start of the post season.

The Aces got on the board early when Rowan Lam hit a monster opposite field solo homerun in the top of the first inning.

After a scoreless second inning, Alvinston scored five runs in the top of the third all with two out. Calvin Ritchie walked and advanced to third on a Lam double. Johnson singled past a diving outfielder to plate both Ritchie and Lam. Aaron Stocking then singled to plate Johnson, Taylor Degraw followed that up with a walk and Chris Drew smashed a single up the middle to score both Alvinston base runners, making the score 6-0.Â

The Aces made it 7-0 in the top of the fourth when Lam hit his second homerun of the game deep into the night sky.Â

The pirates answered back with a run in the bottom half of the inning when Tyler Lynch tripled to the gap and came in to score on a fielders choice.Â

The Aces added an eighth run in the top of the sixth inning when Robbie Black walked, advanced to second on a Joe Triest single and scored on a Lam single.Â

Taylor Degraw slammed the door shut in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 8-1 win and send the Aces to the next round of playoffs.Â

Rowan Lam led the way for the offense going 4/4 with two homeruns, and three rbis. Johnson and battery mate Ritchie were dominant on the night going 4 1/3 innings giving up one run on two hits, with five strikeouts and two walks. Degraw came in relief and pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up one hit and striking out two.Â
