Wellington, NZ - - Sorenson to cast keen eye over U23's
Golden Homes Black Sox Head Coach, Mark Sorenson will be casting a keen eye over the U23 men’s provincial championship at Fraser Park in early January as he prepares for what promises to be a very busy front end of 2019.
Â
The high quality domestic event provides a final selection opportunity as Black Sox management look to name 32 athletes for the TAB Challenge Cup that will see the hosts take on 2017 World Championship finalists Australia, and current world number 3 Japan.
Â
“It’s an opportunity for someone to put their hand up and grab a spot in the 32, there are still a couple of spots to fill which are likely to come from this event†says Sorenson
Â
The TAB Challenge Cup precedes the National Fastpitch Championship to be held in Christchurch in February, and the Men’s Open Championships in Auckland in March prior to Sorenson naming his final selection for the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup being held in Prague, Czech Republic June 13-23.  Â
