Surrey, B.C. – The Canadian Women’s and Junior Women’s National Teams are ready to compete at the 25
th edition of the
Canada Cup International Softball Championship from July 9-14 at Softball City. The Women’s National Team – who are competing as the
Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League – will be travelling from Minnesota following a five-game series with the Aussie Peppers, while the Junior Women’s National Team will be assembling for the first time since the team was named in January.

Team Canada won Gold at the event in 2018 and will begin their title defence against the Great Britain U22 team at 6:00pm PDT on July 9
th.

The Junior Women’s National Team will play four exhibition games between July 6-8 before opening their tournament against Scrapyard International at 1:00pm PDT on July 9
th.

The tournament features twelve (12) teams divided into two pools of six (6). Teams included in Pool A are Canada, Calahoo Erins, Chinese Taipei, Great Britain U22, New Zealand and Triple Crown Colorado while Pool B will feature the Canadian Juniors, Korea, Mizuno Impulse, Pakistan, Puerto Rico and Scrapyard International.

The top four (4) teams in each pool after the preliminary round will advance to the playoff round, with the top two (2) teams in each pool earning double life in the Page playoff system.

Following the Canada Cup, the Women’s National Team will head back to the National Pro Fastpitch League where they will be playing until the end of July before the
Pan American Games that will take place August 4-10 in Lima, Peru. Team Canada will also host the
WBSC Americas Olympic Qualifier from August 25 to September 1 in Surrey, B.C.

The Junior Women’s National Team will have a break before competing at the
WBSC U19 Women’s Softball World Cup that will be played August 11-17 in Irvine, California.
