OKLAHOMA CITY — USA Softball has announced evaluation opportunities for athletes hoping to compete on the 2019 U-17 and the 2020 U-18 Men’s National Team (MNT). The 2019 roster will compete at the U-17 Men’s Pan American Championship November 2-10, 2019 in Guatemala City, Guatemala that serves as a qualifier for the first-ever U-18 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men’s Softball World Cup, slated to be held February 22-March 1, 2020 in New Zealand.  Members of the USA Softball Men’s National Team Selection Committee (MNTSC) and the coaching staff will be attending the Vassar Tournament, which will be held July 27-28 at Memorial Park (200 Walnut Street, Vassar, Mich.). In addition to evaluating athletes during the Vassar Tournament, an open evaluation event will be held at Memorial Park on July 28 from 4-6 p.m. ET and July 29 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. ET.  Athletes wishing to participate in the Vassar Tournament can contact Corey Haubenstricker (989-529-9184) or Don Petro (989-297-1704) to be placed on competing teams. Athletes interested in attending the open evaluation must complete this form and send to U-17 MNT Head Coach Bob Piddock.  *In order to be eligible for the 2019 U-17 MNT and 2020 U-18 MNT, athletes must be a male U.S. citizen born January 1, 2002 or later who can commit to future team events and hold a U.S. passport. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and expenses to the Vassar Tournament and open evaluation event, and all necessary forms must be completed.  A roster of 15 athletes will be selected on or before August 26, 2019 in accordance with the U-18 MNT Selection Procedures. |
