“This week represents another opportunity for us to prepare to be at our best when our best is needed at the World Cup come August and it is a good opportunity to compete in front of the young ladies that are competing at the JO Cup,” said U-19 WNT Head Coach, Heather Tarr (Redmond, Wash./Head Coach at Washington). “We are proud to be here, and we are proud to be involved in this USA Softball event.”

The U-19 team is coming off of a historic finish at the USA Softball International Cup where they competed against the world’s best women’s competition and took home the bronze medal for the first time in program history with a 7-3 record. Earlier in the season the team defeated Ireland in the Atlantic Challenge Cup, the first-ever fast pitch event of its kind in Ireland, and finished 3-1 in the 2019 Achille Challenge in France.

After training camp the team will return home before departing for the WBSC U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup in Irvine, Calif. where they will be on their pursuit of a third straight world cup title beginning on August 10.
