USA sweeps Mexico in three-game softball series in Florida
The Olympic Softball Teams from Mexico and USA faced off in a three-game series at Eddie C. Moore Clompex in Clearwater, Florida, in the first softball international games of the year. The host team defeated Mexico 4-2, 7-0 and 5-3 to sweep the series.

The Canadian Women’s National Softball Team has arrived in Florida to continue their preparation for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The 18-athlete Canadian extended roster includes four Olympians and will train together for the first time in 2021.

WBSC welcomes re-election of IOC President Thomas Bach
Thomas Bach has been re-elected president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). After serving an eight-year first mandate, the German 67-year-old ran unopposed. His term will last through to 2025. Through Bach's evolution and modernisation of the Olympic Movement, baseball and softball -- as well as four other new sports -- in 2016 were voted onto the programme of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

WBSC Integrity Unit publishes updated Anti-Doping Educational Plan 2021-2024
The World Baseball Softball Confederation Integrity Unit has published an updated version of the WBSC Anti-Doping Educational Plan for the four-year period 2021-2024, in compliance with the 2021 WADA Code and the new International Standard for Education. "Doping has no place in Baseball or Softball. Since I have been President, one of the main objectives for the World Baseball Softball Confederation has been to protect our clean athletes, and consequently protect the integrity of our events, ensuring they are played fair," said WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari.
