De Kalb, IL - - Hogs Bow To Bravos In Icebreaker Final
DeKalb, IL.
The DeKalb Hogs lost 4-1 in the Icebreaker final to the Humboldt Park (Chicago) Bravos on Sunday. The Hogs finished 3rd in Pool A defeating Sycamore 2-0 and losing to Meister Dairy 5-1 and the Wabash Crawdads 4-1. On Sunday, the Hogs took care of the Sting 2-0 and Meister Dairy 19-3 in the semifinal.
The Hogs were led by Matias Minigutti 7x16, Tommy Crouch 6x15 & Fabio Silvestre 4x11 with 2 HR's and all were named to th All Tournament team. Martin Gonzalez, Julian Fernandez and Fabio Silvetre all pitched well on the six game weekend. Another Hog notable was Brian Crouch, who was 4x9 at the plate on the weekend.
The Bravos repeated as champions and Danny Hernandez and Joel Cooley were named MVP and Top Pitcher.
