Ottawa, ON - Softball Canada Announces 2026 Men’s Pan American Championship Roster
Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the coaching staff and the athlete roster for the upcoming WBSC Americas Pan American Championship that will be held February 21-28 in Monteria, Colombia. The event will serve as a qualifier for the 2028 WBSC Men’s World Cup Group Stage, and possibly the 2027 Pan American Games if Men’s Softball is added to the programme.
John Hill (St. John’s, NL) will serve as interim head coach, with former Men’s National Team assistant coach and current U23 Men’s Head Coach Doug Allin (Campbell River, B.C.) joining him as associate coach. Ryan Ray (Saskatoon, Sask.) will join the staff as a guest coach for this event. Mark Quinn (Mermaid, P.E.I.) will be providing support as performance analyst, and Darren Smale (St. Marys, Ont.) will be working as the team’s trainer.
“The Pan American Championship is the first event in the 2026-2029 WBSC World Cup cycle, and it will provide new opportunities for up-and-coming athletes to represent Canada at the international level” said Mike Branchaud, CEO of Softball Canada. “This event was recently confirmed on December 17th. We had a plan in place for the next cycle, however with the addition of this event, we had to shift our focus to put together the best possible team and staff. We are excited with what the future will bring for our Men’s Program.”
The Men’s National Team finished fifth at the WBSC Men’s World Cup Finals and won the bronze at The World Games in 2025.

Athletes named to the Men’s National Team Athlete Pool are eligible to be invited to Men’s National Team training, development and selection camps. Athletes may be added or removed from the National Team Athlete Pool at any time at the coaching staff’s discretion.
