Niagrara Falls Mens League Game 2
September 20, 2007
Niagara Falls, ON
Niagara Falls Canada
Game 2 of the best of 5 finals for the Niagara Falls Men's League playoff championship went last night and the Fury evened the series at one game a piece with a 9-1 win against Beam Me Up Scotties. The score however was not indicative of the game. The Fury managed to plate 8 runs in the top of the 11th for the victory. Through 8 innings Fury pitcher Scott Wagar and Scotties pitcher Tom Berube kept the game scoreless and each had only given up a couple hits to that point. The international rule was used for the 9th inning and both teams cashed a run. Wagar drove in Adam Dearborn in the top half and Craig Smith cashed Darren Newsome in the bottom. The 10th saw both teams leave their runners on third. The Fury bats came alive in the 11th and when the top half ended they had put up 8 runs, Wagar retired the side in the bottom for the win. Game three goes tonight Ker Park 8 pm. Game 4 will be next Wednesday night and Game 5 if necessary next Thursday night.
