Impact printing cup
February 27, 2008
Melbourne, AU
Last night proved to be a very interesting display of Fastpitch for the final round of the impact printing cup for the schutt hitmen.
With Jim Grego starting on the hill in a must win game for the Hitmen Catcher and team leader Mike Hurinui arrived 5 min before the first pitch was due to be thrown due to traffic on a major Melbourne motorway, proving a stress full start to the game.
With that behind them the Hitmen settled in shutting down Deer Park Hiway for the first 3 inns, when in the 4th inn Deer Park Hiway scored the opening run on a base hit and 2 errors.
With Hiway leading 1 - 0 the Hitmen fought back on a walk from Andrew Evans, with Ashton Edwards at the plate hitting a double to left scoring Evans from 1st taking the score to 1-1.
Due to Time and another game to be played the game was called a draw with both teams advancing to tonight's sudden death play off at Melbourne Ball park.
Tonight Schutt Hitmen play off with Melbourne Comets to fight for a spot in the Championship game at 9pm.
