On Saturday April 12, 2008 a fund-raiser supporting Melissa Brideau will be held at St Patricks Hall, 4673 Victoria Ave in Niagara Falls Canada. Cost of tickets are $5 each and we also have a letter asking for corporate support of $250. Many of you who have played ball in Niagara Falls the last number of years no doubt have run across Melissa Brideau. Melissa is the long time girlfriend of Fury player Tommy Watkinson who has played ball in the Niagara Falls Men's League for the past 15 years. Melissa is stricken with a very aggressive from of Multiple Sclerosis. It was passed on to Melissa from her Mother who died at a very young age with the disease. Melissa is 35 years old and has reached a point in her illness where a wheelchair or scooter have become her source of mobility.
Melissa is having no luck with North American treatment and is traveling to Venezuela in late April to seek treatment from world renowned specialist Dr. Yepetz utilizing rainforest natural therapy. As one can imagine this is a very costly endeavor but one that needs to be explored now. Dr. Yepetz has successfully reversed the effects of MS in many patients and Melissa feels this type of treatment is one of the few remaining options available for her. If treatments go well, Melissa will in all probability be revisiting Venezuela multiple times.
Please consider your support by purchasing a ticket and coming out to support Melissa or by donating to the cause. As well if you are aware of a potential corporate sponsors please pass on the information to me so I can arrange for the delivery of the corporate letter.
